Vegetarian Burger Recipe


2 c bulgur wheat

1 at tomatoes, canned, with juice

1/2 onion

2-3 garlic cloves

1 cu walnuts or other nuts/ sunflower seeds

1 T vegetable salt or 2 tsp regular salt

2 T molasses


Place the dry bulgur wheat in a large saucepan

Blend all other ingredients till smooth

Add blended ingredients to the bulgur wheat, mix, then simmer 20 minutes

Spread the mixture onto sprayed cookie sheet (or cookie sheet lined with parchment paper), then bake 250-275 for 45-60 minutes, stirring occasionally till the mixture is loose and burger-like; don't over cook.

Remove while still moist

Makes 12 1-cup servings


Freeze,  and serve with tossed salad, add to spaghetti sauce, mix with chili beans, etc.
